Overview

Newboot delivers a modern and secure industrial edge computing platform that empowers enterprises to harness the full potential of their operational data. Built to support scalable IIoT deployments, Newboot bridges the gap between legacy industrial systems and next-generation data platforms, AI models, and cloud applications. Our architecture emphasizes modularity, real-time performance, fast deployment, and strong cybersecurity—tailored for sectors such as manufacturing, energy, logistics, and infrastructure.

A core focus of Newboot’s platform is data standardization. Through seamless integration with diverse industrial protocols and intelligent data normalization at the edge, Newboot ensures that data is immediately usable—whether for real-time dashboards, ML training, or enterprise-wide analytics. This approach accelerates time-to-insight and supports consistent operations across geographies and use cases.

Newboot is also designed for scalability from day one. Whether you start with a single site or deploy across 50+ factories, the platform ensures robust performance and maintainability through centralized orchestration, automated updates, and modular deployment capabilities.

System Architecture #

The Newboot system is structured across four functional layers: IoT Modules, Edge Computing, Digital Twins, and the Data Platform.

  • IoT Modules: These are responsible for interfacing with field devices (sensors, PLCs, MES, Databases, ERP…) using protocols such as Modbus, OPC UA, MQTT, LoRaWAN & many others. They convert raw data into standardized, structured data models and support multiple data acquisition modes for real-time, periodic, or event-based transmission.
  • Edge Computing: At the heart of Newboot’s processing stack are ruggedized, secure edge devices that perform on-site data processing, transformation, and filtering. They also support AI inference, local automation logic, and protocol bridging while maintaining operations even in offline or low-connectivity environments.
  • Digital Twins: Each asset or system is mirrored in the Newboot platform using a real-time digital twin model. These twins provide a live operational state, support event handling, and can be used to visualize performance, run diagnostics, or orchestrate AI outputs.
  • Data Platform: Central to analytics, Newboot’s data platform supports stream ingestion, time-series storage, contextual labeling, and external integrations with cloud platforms, data centers, or other industrial systems. It enables scalable storage of unified data, live querying, and historical data exploration.

This layered architecture allows for flexible, high-performance deployments at any scale—from a single machine to a multi-site global enterprise. Each layer is modular, allowing clients to adopt the platform progressively or customize components as needed.

Webapp #

The Newboot Webapp is the command center for your edge deployment. With a clean, responsive interface, users can:

  • Remotely monitor edge assets and view operational logs in real time
  • Set up IoT connectivity using industrial protocols (e.g., Modbus, OPC UA, MQTT)
  • Configure and standardize variables and data tags across devices
  • Visualize live data and digital twin states
  • Deploy AI models and applications across sites
  • Manage edge gateways and protocol drivers
  • Monitor performance, logs, and alerts

The Webapp also supports RBAC (Role-Based Access Control), SSO, and API integrations with external tools such as Grafana, Azure, and SAP.

Usage, Analytics & Limitations #

Newboot enables industrial teams to:

  • Build real-time dashboards across devices and factories
  • Collect contextual datasets for machine learning
  • Label, enrich, and stream data from sensors to AI pipelines

With support for edge-based transformation and AI inference, Newboot minimizes cloud dependencies and improves latency-sensitive operations.

Newboot’s deployment tools and templates allow new sites to be onboarded in minutes, using a repeatable configuration strategy and remote provisioning workflows—critical for distributed industrial operations.

Limitations include:

  • Sub-second sampling rates require custom tuning
  • AI model training occurs in the cloud (edge handles inference only)
  • Highly proprietary protocols may require custom drivers

Still, Newboot is engineered to deliver enterprise-grade edge computing across 50+ production sites, with proven scalability, fast deployment capabilities, and deep integration flexibility.
